Writing Poems

I write alot of younger children’s poems.  Mainly because I think you can have more fun with a poem for a young child because you can use your imagination and know that the kid reading it is going to be able to understand what their reading and be entertained by it also.  I think that when your talking about adult poetry you think about mushy-gushy love  poems. When you are writing adult poems you can’t use your imagination as far as goofy things and funny make-believe things.  Kids don’t like reading boring poetry. I myself am a kid and I love poetry but I think that trying to write an adult poem is boring and meaningless.  Some people like writing both adult and children. My favorite poet is Shel Silverstein. Personally I think his poems lean more toward childrens poetry, but other people may know of other poems he wrote that are for adults, but my fourth grade reading teacher got me into him and I posted my favorite poem of him on here. But that’s just how I look at writing poetry. I hope I’ve been at least a little bit of help. Best of luck, and have fun!!!!!

Rain

  • Rain
  • little  drops
  • Drip Drop, Drip Drop
  • It’s very wet
  • Fresh
  • A drop of rain on my tongue

Splish Splash

Splish splash splish splash, little feet jumping around in puddles

boom, thunder rumbling in the sky

crash, lightning cracks in the night

slap slap slap, little feet running inside

pop pop pop, bubbles popping in the bathtub

good night, the sound of a loving mother putting her child to bed

hmmm hmmm hmmm, the breath of a precius child sleeping peacefully

Ephesians 4:32

Ephisians 4:32 says “And be ye kind one to another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ sake forgave you” What most people tend to do is just say “And be ye kind”  But that’s not enough; the other part of the verse is just as important. If you say and memorize only “And be ye kind,” then even if you are being kind you may still be holding grudges wich means you are not forgiving one another. In the Lord’s Prayer it says “And forgive us our debts as we forgive our DEBTORS” wich means YOU can NOT be FORGIVEN if YOU are not FORGIVING.

Angels

  • Moms are always kind
  • Moms are always fair
  • Moms are always wonderful
  • Moms are always there

But I know moms as something different

I know moms as ANGELS

Angels who watch over us and protect us

Angels who always care

Movie Madness:The Last Mimzy

I give this sci-fi movie 5 buckets of popcorn. It is all that. I wathched it 3 times in 2 days. I think it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Noah a ten year old boy and his little sister Emma go to their beach house on Wigby Island. They’re on the beach and they were looking out at the ocean, all of a sudden Emma saw something out in the ocean and of course being a curious boy, Noah went to find out what it was. When he got out there he pried it out of the sand and flung it over to the other side of the beach. Emma started running towards it and slid on her knees next to it. Noah picked it up and was moving it around and all of sudden it made an odd sound and opened. They found a glowing piece of glass. Later they were upstairs and their mom walked in but when they showed it to her she didn’t see what they saw and over that weekend alot of very strange things happened. But to find out what they are you’ll have to get the movie and watch it for your self!!!! :)  This is a very kid-friendly movie; your parents will love it.
